Substack has greatly changed in the last couple of years since I started my blog. One thing that remained the same was my number of subscribers (6)--amirite?
One thing I really, really, liked about Substack was the homepage for your newsletter. The designs are very pretty, practical, and professional without much effort. But, each time I open the application or website, I'm met with the same exact filth that I left other social media platforms for.
Engagement bait. Random works from an artist. Political commentary despite having politics ranked as far down as possible in the settings. Stupid things like "my life has meaning" with an image showing they now have 1 subscriber (post has thousands of likes; see Engagement bait from beginning of paragraph).
Maybe I'm just bitter.
Maybe it's the same thing no matter where you go.
Maybe I want to try something new.
